Future Africa Campus, University of Pretoria

July 26, 2022 – July 28, 2022

This is an international conference inviting scholars, activists and creatives from South Asia, Africa (and the diasporas related to South Asia and Africa) that show the South Asia-Africa experience in its broad diversity. Activists and scholars in the fields of sociology, anthropology, law, history, postcolonial studies, critical psychology, gender studies, cultural/literary studies, politics and ethnic studies, migration, transnational and queer studies are invited to submit papers.  The conference remit is to develop rich understanding, in both theory and practice, the politics of crossing geographic, linguistic, cultural and heteronormative boundaries in the ‘contact zones’ opened up by the relationship between ‘South Asia’ and ‘Africa’ in its historical and current contexts.
